Popworld Promotes featuring Chairman Of The Bored, Page 44 and much more

Popworld, the iconic TV show, presents The Popworld Promotes Elite at 21 South Street on Saturday 19th August. This night will feature the first three winning unsigned artists to come out of www.popworldpromotes.com. Playing on the night will be Page 44, Chairmen Of The Bored (including ex-Hollyoaks star Ben Gerrard), funk-rock band Bashphelt and guest DJs. In addition to some great prize give-aways this event is being filmed for future broadcast.

Norman Jay (Carnival Warm Up, Good Times set)

In room two, only a few days before taking centre stage at the world famous Notting Hill Carnival, Norman Jay brings his "Good Times" set to the Reading Fez. Support comes in the form of resident DJ - Alfresco. In room one, there's no better way to celebrate a night out with the hot weather upon us than with the BTM a night of Ibiza anthems and club classics from 1992 2006 with DJs: TNT, Andantino, DJ Neon, Tim Weymouth and more.

Hugh Turner quartet @ The Arches Jazz Club

Undoubtedly one of the South East's finest jazz guitarists, Hugh Turner continues his Thursday night residency with a cool mix of modern jazz and jazz-funk with his regular quartet featuring Stuart Henderson on Trumpet, Jerry Soffe on Bass, and Simon Price on Drums. The line-up is flexible so you are likely to see some stars.

Djembi African Drum Workshop by Steve Yimga @ The Rising Sun Arts Centre

A workshop teaching basic Djembi rhythms that originate from specific parts of Africa. Drums can be provided but you are welcome to bring your own. Steve is a very experienced musician. If you do not have your own drum ring first to check for availability. Drums will also be available to buy at the venue.
